I am looking for a rapid growing shade tree to plant in a pasture that is home to horses and other livestock. It is something I have been doing a lot of research on. I would like to keep my animals healthy and safe. I have been looking at Chinese Elms. I would appeciate your help. Thank you.

The University of Illinois Veterinary Medicine Library has published a list of plants toxic to livestock (both common and botanical names). Chinese elms are not listed as toxic. You may want to visit the site and see what else you might be able to safely plant in your pasture: (http://www.library.uiuc.edu/ve...)
