I need shade plants that will also attract birds for food and winter protection |
Debbra, Wow that is a tough group of specifications to fill. If the shade is bright you might find the large types of nandina to be okay as the berries are food for cedar waxwings and some other birds. But those types of nandina can be a bit invasive and get rather large. Some possibilities include beautyberry, wax myrtle, dahoon holly (if very bright shade), and flowering dogwoods. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
