| Purple Fountain Grass is not always winter hardy, but if it is planted in a protected area, it may overwinter for you. There's nothing you need to do to the plant; the foliage will die down during the winter. If you leave the foliage alone after it dies, it will create a mound of insulation for the roots of the plant. In the spring, when new growth begins, you can simply pull upwards on the old withered foliage and it will come away easily from the crown of the plant. Pulling rather than cutting will give your plant a more natural look. |
