| I am a homeowner in the middle of a major landscaping project. I purchase from Shortys Nursery regularly. Some of these purchases are Monrovia plants. I am happy with the quality of your products and find your website useful to plan different parts of my project ahead of time. I recently approached Shortys to purchase or order a Southern Live Oak tree (Quercus Virginiana) because your website helped me identify the specimen as ideal for the current site I am preparing. I was disappointed to hear that ANY oak tree would not be available because of sudden oak death. However, your website indicates that 2 of your 3 nurseries have this disease under control and plants are available with USDA certification. Therefore, these are my questions: Is it possible to purchase a Quercus Virginiana tree from your nursery (via my local retailers) at this time? If so, is it possible to visit your nursery to choose the exact tree I would like to purchase before it is shipped to my local retailer?
