The Q&A Archives: prunning humming bird vine when to?

Question: when and how do you prune a creeping trumpet vine

Answer: Fred,

The best time to prune a trumpet vine is in mid winter. The vine will resume growth in spring and be able to set blooms for summer. You can do minor trimming if needed at other times of the year, but save any heavy pruning for mid to late winter.
