I bought one of these plants and now all the flowers have dropped off and some of the leaves. I have it sitting in a window with plenty of light and the soil is moist. what is going on?

I think your new bougainvillea is going through a little adjustment period since you've only recently brought it home. The air may be warmer and drier than it is accustomed to and the light may be more or less intense. It will adjust within a few weeks. It's quite normal for spent flowers to drop and equally normal for some of the oldest leaves (those near the center of the plant) to be shed as well. Your bougainvillea will rest for a few weeks after blooming. Then it will show new growth and in 4-6 weeks it will bloom again. If you need to prune your plant, be sure to time the pruning to coincide with the dropping of flowers so you don't accidentally prune away the next cycle of blooms.

Best wishes with your bougainvillea!
