I recently purchased two Mexican fan Palm trees and I noticed that the end of the fronds are turning brown (tip ends)my question is this normal or is there something I can do (trim tip ends)to help prevent the browning...I live in Georgia and it is october the fall time of the year and I didn't know if this was normal...Please help |
David, Stresses from drought, transplant stress or perhaps some other root injury can cause such tip browning. However there is little you can do now to fix it. If you wish to trip the brown ends this is fine, but tedious. As new fronds appear each year and the older lower fronds are removed in time there is a natural replacement and rejuvenation of the plant. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
