What is the best time to transplant mimosa trees, fall or spring? And I have some pampas grass I would like to move too, fall or spring? Thanks for the help.

I would wait until late winter to early spring. Both of these are difficult to dig and move successfully however. The mimosa has a deep sparse and brittle root system, so it is hard to take sufficient root with it. The root that remains in the ground will usually resprout at the original site, too. Pampas grass has a huge and strong root system, to move or divide it may require a pickax, chain saw or similar devices. Move the grass in early spring just before it starts to grow. Good luck with the moves!
