I was planning to planting about 15 English Laurels in my back yard but just found out they are toxic if swallowed. I have 3 small children so I don't want to take the chance. I need a hedge type plant that grows 8 feet or taller, is an evergreen and will grow fast. Any suggestions?
Thanks
janet

Red tipped photinia makes a nice evergreen hedge; Pieris is another suggestion, as is Viburnum. Best wishes with your landscape!
