The Q&A Archives: fertilizers

Question: Can dog manure be used as a fertilizer for
trees and shrubs ?

Answer: It isn't a good idea from a health standpoint to use manure from meat-eating animals as fertilizer. This would include dogs, cats, pigs, etc. The concern is with pathogens that the manure contains. I'd bury the waste rather than use it as a fertilizer for trees and shrubs.
