How do you take a piece of wigela bush to transplant? Or can it be done? |
Weigela can be propagated by division (digging the plant and separating the rootmass - make sure each division has roots and stems attached) or by layering or by taking cuttings. Layering simply means bending a branch down so it rests on the ground, wounding the underside of the branch and covering the wounded area with soil. Layering can take a few months but after roots develop at the wound site, you can cut the branch from the parent plant and pot it up. Tip cuttings are generally taken in the early summer and will usually root within 6 weeks. |
