I bought two flowering dogwoods last year and had them planted in the fall. One is doing beautifully, however, the other one looks sick. It's bark is peeled and although it did bloom and still has leaves it does not have the red berry's that the other has. Is there something I can do to make it thrive like the other one seems to be doing? Thank You! |
Unfortunately, peeling bark is never a good sign and usually indicates that a tree is dieing. It might be a sign of borer damage or some other severe problem. I would suggest you consult with your county extension and/or professional nursery staff to see if the ailing tree can be saved, or not. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging. |
