| Lucky Bamboo is a very easy plant to grow. They grow indoors almost anywhere, even in lower light conditions. They can be taken outdoors in summer, but will need to be placed in a very shady spot. Place stems in 1-3 inches of very clean water, not in soil. Add water about once a week as it evaporates and all new water about once a month Water quality is critical. Plain tap water with added chemicals can be a slow death. Use bottled spring water (not distilled) or rain water for best results. Place your Lucky Bamboo anywhere you want indoors except in direct sun. Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, all are suitable for Lucky Bamboo. This plant wants typical household temperatures of about 60-80 degrees, but warmer end of the range is better. When the roots become crowded, you can place your Lucky Bamboo in a container about 2 inches larger than the old one. Or, you can separate each stalk and grow it alone (although I think the plants look best if you group 3-5 stalks together in a single container). Enjoy your Lucky Bamboo! |
