Do mimosa tree roots do damage to the water lines and pavement after it reaches mature height?

Mimosa tree roots have a reputation for lifting sidewalks and creating lumps in the ground which makes mowing difficult. Try to give a mimosa plenty of room when planting so the roots won't have an opportunity to damage sidewalks and water lines.
