What grasses are good for a very heavily used lawn, one that is self healing by sending shoots into the torn area? We have two large dogs that really take a toll.

There are a number of grass varieties that will do well in your gardening region. Tall fescues, creeping fescues, Kentucky Bluegrass, perennial ryegrass or Buffalo Grass are all recommended by the University of Idaho. For details on each, plus information on turfgrass establishment, visit the following website:

Best wishes with your new lawn!
