Is there any variety of lilac that will grow in Texas - specifically, Washington/Chappell Hill area of Washington County, TX. Thanks,

Unfortunately lilacs suffer that far south and are poorly adapted. As an alternative shrub you might consider crape myrtle (pretty but lacks the fragrance) or Buddlea davidii (pretty and fragrant).
