The ladybugs are looking for a place to spend the winter. They tend to congregate on the west and south sides of buildings. Vacuuming is a good way to collect them once they are indoors. To prevent them from coming inside you need to seal all gaps on the exterior of your house. So, caulking around window and door frames and checking the screening on attic air vents and so on, for example, is your first line of defense. This also helps reduce air infiltration and cut down on your heating/air conditioning bills so it should be a part of your regular home maintenance anyway. Good luck!
