| It's a little early to be planting outdoors, though you can certainly start planning. Good late winter/early spring crops include peas, onions, cabbage, broccoli, brussels sprout, cauliflower, kale, and collard. I would estimate that you could start planting these outdoors in mid-February. You might also consider starting the cole crops (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.) indoors to get a jump on the season. By early March, you can think about cool weather crops like beets, Swiss chard, lettuce, spinach, and turnips. My map shows that your last frost date is usually around March 30. |
