I planted some double freesia bulbs back in April or May. They started to grow in Sept. but they have yet to bloom. What do I do with them, it is starting to get cold here in Michigan |
Freesia's are not winter hardy in your gardening region so you'll need to dig them up and store them before too long. It's possible you planted them too deeply last spring and that's why they took so long to emerge. I'd allow the foliage to wither and die back naturally, then dig the bulbs and store them in a cool, airy location. Early next spring, when soil temperatures warm, plant them outside. I hope they bloom for you next year! |
