How do I prune container-grown Meyer lemon trees?

Gerald,

Lemons need no pruning as far as their own care is concerned. Pruning to shape a bush according to your aesthetic interests or to remove dead, broken or crowded branches is fine. I would wait until late winter to do any pruning. A little snip here and there in spring or summer is fine too.
