The Q&A Archives: star jasmine

Question: I brought my star jasmine tree in for the winter and now im losing a lot of leaves and there is a white scaly powder on the trnk and branches. What can I do?

Answer: Linda,

Your jasmine may be suffering from scale insects or possibly powdery mildew. I suggest you take a sample to your County Extension Office for diagnosis and control recommendations. There is usually not a charge for that service.

The leaf drop could be due to the white scaly powder issue or to soil that gets too wet or stays too dry for a while.
