I'm getting ready to plant some queen palms around our pool. I'm wondering how far from the sprinkler lines we should plant. Also should I be concerned with the pool lines that are under ground?

The roots of palm trees typically grow deep and spread out only about two feet from the trunk. Your Queen Palms can be planted within 3-4 feet of existing patios, sidewalks, etc. The roots will most likely straddle any pipes in the ground, but if you know exactly where the water lines are running, you can avoid planting directly over them. Best wishes with your new palms!
