The Q&A Archives: should you cover dwarf albera shurbs for winter?

Question: we planted 2 shrubs this past summer. Should we cover them for winter? Live in Ohio so we get cold and snow.
Thank you,

Answer: Spruces including this one are extremely cold tolerant. You should mulch over the root area in late fall (once the ground has frozen) but do not allow it to touch the trunk. They do not need to be wrapped or covered.
