What variety would you recommend for southern Louisiana? I want a high yield that can take the heat and humidity and will continue to produce through a hot summer. Past attempts resulted in a garden ending production in late June. I am open to any suggestions. My past gardening experience has been in Oregon & Montana and my plant selection is not working in the South. HELP!!!

Wow, that is gardening culture shock isn't it! Have you considered 'Heatwave II' from Burpee? It is specifically designed for hot climates such as yours and is extremely disease resistant. It is a determinate variety that sets fruit in about 68 days under proper growing conditions. 'Sweet Tangerine' (also from Burpee) reportedly sets heavy crops even in hot weather. 'Sweet Tangerine' is a new variety that is determinate and offers strong disease resistance as well. It too is an early performer, setting fruit in about 68 days. You can obtain both by contacting Burpee at 1-800-888-1447 or by visiting the website.
