I am looking for a good producing purple plum tree(s). Will they produce in this hot humid climate? What would you recommend? Great home page!

You are looking for a "low chill" variety of plum. (Fruit trees vary in the amount of chilling they require to produce good fruit.) Bay Laurel Nursery offers several: 'Beauty', 'Burgundy', 'Mariposa', 'Catalina', 'Friar', 'Santa Rosa', 'Laroda', and many, many more. You can contact them at (805) 466-3406 or, write to them at 2500 El Camino Real, Atascadero, CA 93422.

In your very own state you could try contacting Louisiana Nursery at (318) 948-3696 or write at, Rt. 7, Box 43, Opelousas, LA 70570. I bet they would have some great suggestions!
