The Q&A Archives: interview ?

Question: For my project I am doing How will human medicine will affect a plant. If you dont know I will be planting the medicine with the seed. Does the size of the pot matter?

Answer: Generally speaking you could design your experiment to demonstrate what happens with different sizes of pots. Based on your results, you would then have some idea whether or not the pot size really did matter, or not. But you would probably want the pot to be a size that is suitable to the plant, not too big and not too small. An overly large pot will have excess soil relative to the root volume, and an overly small pot will constrict the roots. Either situation could in some cases lead to root damage and this would limit the uptake.
