Is the Acanthus plant perenial? will it survive atlantas winter?
In what zones does this plant thrive?
What type of soil does it like? what drainage?

Heidi,

It is a perennial rated to zone 7 which is your zone in the Atlanta area. To be extra sure, mulch the plant well in winter. It likes a soil with compost mixed in prior to planting and good drainage, not soggy conditions.
