I am looking for a 3-5 foot high and wide shrub to plant in a cluster at the edge of a ficus rubiginosa drip line. Can you please suggest a couple of ideas? How about Abelia/westringia?

There are many plants you could use, but one that is easily sheared to the size range you need would be "Manhattan" euonymous. Another possibility would be yew. Westringia longifolia (native rosemary) would make a beautiful grouping, and Abelia has attractive glossy leaves. As long as the site is sunny, any of the above suggestions will work. Your local retail nurseries may have additional suggestions.
