I have a row of Nikkos and am wondering how to prepare them for the winter. They are mulched well, but should I prune them down for the winter, or just leave them as they are?
All I have done to them since I planted them this summer is water well and prune when I cut the flowers off. Thanks.

Don't prune your hydrangeas now - wait until early spring when the buds just begin to swell, then prune them down to 18-24" above ground level. The new shoots which develop on the old canes will produce flowers. Enjoy!
