I recently planted a new Holly about 4-6 weeks ago and just noticed some of the leaves have turned brown, but only in a certain area. What is causing this and how could I prevent it from spreading?

If the browning leaves are in only one area, I suspect a branch is damaged or broken and the best thing you can do is follow the branch back to the trunk of the holly and cut it off clean. This may leave a gap in the shrub, but your holly will eventually fill in and disguise the gap. Best wishes with your landscape!
