| While a large tree might use enough water to help drain the area I think a better approach would be to convert the site into a seasonal pond, with plants tolerant of wet soils, or to install some drainage to redirect the water. Trees that tolerate wet feet would require wet feet over most of the year meaning that you would have to keep the area flooded even when it doesn't rain. I'd install a seasonal pond, instead. |
