While no plant is guaranteed to be "Deer Proof" some types of plants are less tasty to deer. Many species that are unattractive to deer when other food sources are plentiful, becomes very attractive when food is in short supply. The combination of heat and summer droughts almost invariably make late summer and fall a particularly trying time for deer areas. With that said, Hemerocallis (daylily) is on the list of deer and drought resistant plants. I have a huge population of deer near my home and while they may nibble the leaves when the daylilies are young, they generally do not bother the plants while they are in flower.

Best wishes with your garden!
