thanks soo much for your previous advice on shade plants.

I would very much appreciate your advice on the following: by mistake my gardener chopped down the old trees he said they would have fallen down any time. now i see my neighbors trailer and such...

I would love to hear about a tree or shrub that grows 15 feet or more fast grower and useful to as barrier to cover neighbors. something not extreme roots, i am in zone 9 and the area to cover is part sun. i would love color foliage. one important thing is that the radius to grow at max 15-20 inches.

thanks a bunch and happy holidays

Happy we've been able to help you in the past. If the site is mostly sunny, you might consider Witchita Blue or Skyrocket junipers. These are reasonably fast growing, upright plants. Or, American arborvitae (Thuja occidentalis) is a tall, columnar evergreen that is a natural for planting in rows for quick screening. These plants maintain a mature width of about two feet. Hope one of these suggestions works for you in your landscape!
