Do daylilies make good cut flowers? How should they be handled for good vase life?

Daylily blossoms only last for one day whether left on the plant or picked and brought inside. We pick ours in the morning and make an arrangement in the center of the table. They are gorgeous for the rest of the day, but at night they fade fast.
