Will the thornless chilean mesquite grow in Claremont Ca. I think it's zone 19. I'd like to put one in a narrow area between a block wall and driveway (4.5 feet widex 20 feet long) to shade the garage. Will it upheave the concrete? Remy.

Thornless Chilean Mesquite is not recommended for your gardening region. It thrives in Sunset zones 10-13 and 27-30, and your region is 19. Although it is hardy to 15F, which is lower than your lowest temperature, it needs a longer summer than your region can provide.
