My ficus, money tree and coffee plant aren't doing so well this winter. They are dropping leaves, and the leaves on the coffee plant and money tree are turning brown and dying off. There is not much light here in the winter. What should I do? |
If your plants are not getting adequate light they will respond with poor growth, poor color, and even lose some leaves. The best thing you can do for them is to supplement natural light with some artificial light. Inexpensive fluorescent shop lights can help, or you can purchase Gro-Lights for each plant. Keep the lights on 14 hours per day during the winter months. Your plants should perk up within a few weeks of installing supplemental lighting. Best wishes with your houseplants! |
