The Q&A Archives: TV show info

Question: The 12/31//05 Garden Smart program (channel 53 in Boston) featured an "English Country garden" in Washington state and two plants were highlighted that interest me: a Himalayan Lilac and a Flying Saucer flower/plant. I assume the first would be winter hardy in Connecticut (zone 5) and the other could be treated as an annual. I'd like to try both in my garden.

1) What are their scientific names?
2) How/where can I get seeds or seedlings?
3) Any growing tips would be welcomed.

You can best reply via e-mail.
Thank you in advance.
