| Catherine, The time to transplant a shrub is from November to February, the sooner the better. This allows time for it to get established before the heat of summer arrives. Indian Hawthorne prefers full sun but can take some shade if it is not too dense or for too much of the day. Under a tall pine with good light it should be okay.
