The Q&A Archives: Thuja occidentalis 'Geo. Washington' VARIEGATED ARBORVITAE

Question: I want to plant Thuja Geo Washingtons in a space that is 100 ft long How many will I need? What is the height and circumference of this plant when it matures and how fast does it grow per year? Also, can you tell me where I can purchase some that are already 5 to 6 feet tall? thanx

Answer: Dyan,

I could not find that variety in Monrovia's listings. I searched the web but was only able to determine that it get to be about 40 feet tall with a pyramidal shape. Unless you can come up with more info I suggest planting about 4 of them in 100 feet unless you want them to fill in a lot to form a hedge in which case I would go with 5 or 6 of them.
