We want to plant low growing bougainvillea on our hillside. We are considering Oo-La-La or Rosenka. Can you tell me which one is better for erosion control? We want to do little or no trimming or maintenance on the plants. Is there any low growing bougainvillea ground cover you would recommend instead?
Thank You!

Bougainvillea looks fantastic cascading down a hill and the best choices are those that naturally sprawl rather than climb. The lowest growing bougainvilleas include Crimson Jewel, La Jolla, Oo-La-La and Hawaii. Rosenka tends to have a more upright growth habit, but can be pruned to keep it low. I'd choose one of the other cultivars for your purpose. Enjoy!
