My folden privet is about 10 years old. Have been cutting back to about 2 feet from ground each year to control size. Past few years is not staying yellow the whole season. This is a scrub used as landscape not a hedge. What should I do to keep leaves yellow all season like it use to be? Thanks

This plant colors best in full sun, so if there are nearby trees that have also grown over the past ten years then they may be shading it. Also, some sources indicate that this shrub tends to color less when repeatedly cut back hard, I would suppose due to being stressed repeatedly. In my experience, shade is usually the culprit. I hope this helps.
