It is January 11,2006 and quite warm for this time of year. I can see my flowers and bulbs growing out of ground and winter isn't 1/2 over. Does this cause any damage to plants? especially my bulbs. Than you in advance. I enjoy your web site., Audrey |
Early sprouting isn't all that unusual with spring flowering bulbs. As the weather gets cold again, they will simply wait patiently for warmer weather to arrive again. Bulb foliage is quite cold tolerant and a covering of snow will act as insulation, keeping the sprouts in a state of suspended animation. Don't worry about the premature growth - your bulbs will be fine and should bloom right on schedule. |
