When is the best planting time for asparagus roots in Georgia? |
If I may make a suggestion, have you considered trying the variety 'UC 157' offered by Burpee which was specifically developed for mild areas such as the south? Something to keep in mind. When to plant is dependent upon how warm your area is. I think the best time for you would be early spring, about 4 wks. before the last average frost date. Frost dates for GA range from as early as 3/31 in Bruswick to as late as 4/26 in Augusta. (You can get the exact date from your local extension office or weather bureau). |
