We need to cover steep chalk slope. Sugggestions, please. Fred |
Unfortunately I do not have personal experience gardening in your area, however chalk tends to be well drained as well as alkaline, so you need to select something that can handle both of those conditions. Rosemary comes to mind as a possibility, the trailing types do well on terraced slopes in particular. There are many different plants that can be used as a grouncover, depending in part on the steepness of the slope and your budget for the installation and care of the planting, as well as your personal taste. Your local garden center or nursery personnel should have specific suggestions based on a more detailed understanding of the planting site and your overall design goals. Best of luck with your project! |
