The only dogwood recommended for your mild winter gardening region is Cornus alba, the Tatarian Dogwood. You have your choice of C. alba 'Argenteomarginata' with showy green and white leaves on red stems; 'Gouchaultii' - yellow bordered leaves suffused with pink; or 'Sibirica' also called Siberian Dogwood. It has a small growth habit (7' high, 5' wide) and gleaming coral red branches.

Best wishes with your new dogwood tree!
