I purchased a Bauhinia tree from one of the stores you sale to. For the first two years this tree bloomed beautifully, last November I planted the tree in the ground and it has not bloomed two blooming seasons have gone by and it has not budded at all. It still seems to be doing well since it grows new leaves. What went wrong? Is there a way to make it bloom? How can I tell which Bauhinia I have? They both look the same in the pictures. The Hong Kong or the other one you sell. I purchased from Rainbow Garden off Bandera Road in San Antonio, Texas

Michelle,

It is difficult to be be specific without knowing which Bauhinia you have as they are quite different in cold hardiness and other factors. I suspect if your plant looks good it may just be adjusting to the new site after transplanting. It should settle in and bloom well this next spring if there is not any cold injury to it. In the meantime just water enough to keep the soil moist, not soggy wet.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
