The Q&A Archives: Bird-of-Paradise

Question: When can I dig and transplant Birds-of-Paradise in Zone 9 near New Orleans?

Answer: Spring or fall are the best times to dig and transplant. As long as your temperatures are above freezing, you can move your Birds of Paradise. Be sure to water them well after the move, so the roots can quickly become re-established.
