What are rooting compounds and how do they affect the roots on cuttings?

Most rooting compounds include a hormone or acid (usually IBA or indole butyric acid) to stimulate rooting and many also include a fungicide to prevent rotting. You would need to check the label on indivdual products to see what they each contain. I hope this answers your question.
