I want to plant golden goddess bamboo next to my pool. They would be close to a water line. Should I be concerned about the root system busting through a water pipe?

Thanks

That bamboo is considered a non-invasive clumping type, as opposed to the invasive running type of bamboo. However, bamboo is still a fairly aggressive plant. If you choose to plant there, I'd suggest sinking it in large plastic containers with the bottoms cut out. This will contain the spread but still allow drainage. Bamboo still grow fine if their roots are contained.
