What are some good indoor plants for Scottsdale Arizona Area that require little work, low lighting(sunlight from window), and can get big in size. Something with a bigger leaf, maybe tropical with some different colors. Send me a list with some images and some places to buy in my area. Also what types of soils, post sizes etc. I work in Landscape Architecture but we deal with outdoor plants mainly, plus I am new to the business. Love it though.

You can use Monrovia?s Plant Finder to come up with a list of plants you might be interested in. For attribute select Indoor Speciman and enter zone 9. A list of possible plants will come up, then go to the plant?s webpage for more detail. There are many species of philodendron that make good low-light houseplants, as well as sanseveria (snakeplant) that can get quite tall and have unusual foliage coloration and shape, including 'broomstick' sanseveria. Giant bird of paradise makes an interesting indoor speciman.

You can go to Monrovia?s website and click on Locating Our Plants and then input your zipcode. It will provide you with a list of retailers in your area. Good luck!
